Chozhamandal Artist Village - a short trip!

As usual, myself and my hubby got exhausted post lunch on this sunday after spending two days of weekend inside the apartment. We get bored and tensed in apartment as we dont spend time with outside people. Machine life has made us getting involved in some activity all time. Having no work for even a while doesn't seem as leisure time. it is like we are left alone with emptied life.... what a psychological thinking we are getting in this fast moving world. City is more populated but here humans are no where. This is not finding faults in others, but it's the true feel that everyone has in this city. Even limited talks with neighbors... Short mobile talks with family. I was very happy when I talked more... But now finding a person with free time and open hearted is too rare.. so  facebooking and blogging became a companion..

Going through travel blogs has become my later hobby. and I was stunned with the places around chennai... Chennai is not really a city.. It has its roots from old age itself... After lunch only, I surfed net for knowing near by places.. but worried a bit for my late surfing... More and more places are here to spend the whole day time... Ok coming to the point, after long time discussions, fights and arguments, We came to conclude tat the plan is going to Cholamandala Artists Village. We decided tat our late outing should not be a burden for us. bcoz returning late nights is not preferable for me. I will not compromise it otherwise I will lose the joy of outing.  Hubby too agreed as usual. He is a my kind of man and usually he always insists my preference.

We started by 4.30 pm from home. Towards Sholinganallur then to injambakkam on ECR. The roads were very classy and dust free. We can find the difference in ECR suburbs with less traffic and with highly settled people. Hubby likes having tea outside rather than at home, but I don't. So he had his evening tea in a shop in ECR enjoying the beauty of buildings and cars. Meanwhile I inquired about the art village's location. Again we continued moving towards. Finally we found it near a spencer plaza. It was a private road ahead to the artist village. The building seemed some decades old but situated with nature's pride. Platforms were the combination of rocks and tiles. Coconut tree and some other plants welcome us. Enjoying its presence I had a look around. It was totally awesome that I can't believe that I'm standing in highly polluted Chennai city.. Such a calm place it is. pindrop human silence but birds and squirrels were talking.

Parking the vehicle, hubby returned. He prefers staying at calm place. Whenever we go to tnagar or in the midst of heavy crowd, he will see me like his long time enemy showing a sight that why I brought him there. This time with his peaceful face, I found he liked the place so very much. After getting entrance ticket we entered. I completely liked the showcase pieces and some were not catchy for me as painting is too far from my interest. Such kind of lot more technical paintings were kept over there. I liked the way it was showcased. Each and every piece placed in the ground floor can be seen from the first floor too. Such a visibility was there. Air flow was too good inside the building as the ceiling is too high... We liked the interior and we talked about it(on which we had some knowledge about).. Ventilation and all were awesome...

We came to the garden area. Some pieces were showcased there too.. stone carvings, sculptures and some other statues... I took a left and got stunned. It was a BANYAN tree with more sub roots(விழுதுகள்). We took some photos of it.. talked more.. spent around an hour sitting there.... then returned with light hearts...
                                           

Weekend trip was nice.. Short trips don't give tiredness and makes me enthu to drive my life in this highly populated lonely city life...!

Weekend trip to Madambakkam!

Days have changed. We have become busier in weekends too.. Holidays were once given to relax from routine life, taking a short break then coming back to work even more brisk. But in these days, we form a tight schedule for doing all the works left during weekdays and preparing for facing forthcoming week etc.... We cant come out of it. Money plays well in our life by making us machines. Need to run along with time. Taking a break for breathing is really rare. My hubby planned to go out somewhere that gives peace. His ultimate aim is staying out of chennai rushes.. But is it possible in chennai?! so we started moving to suburbs that look like villages. Such places are available around south chennai. You can find small ponds near farm lands. We took a ride towards 'MADAMBAKKAM'.

Really it is a nice place to visit. Dad usually opts going anywhere like temples when it is not crowded. He will tell tat peace of mind will go out and finally at the end we will start thinking why we came to temple if we go in rush hours.. tat got sticked in mind so we started by 10 am.. The temple is maintained by TN Govt after they found it as one of the oldest temples in chennai.

The deity is Lord Shiva. Temple is made of rocks. The prahaaram is big enough and surrounded by trees and flowery plants. Almost you could find all the deities inside. Sthala virutcham is nagalinga maram. For the first time, I saw the flower and it smelled awesome.. it was like feeling the smell of mild perfume...

Rarely, the pond was opened. Usually the pond is maintained and surrounded by compound walls for preserving it clean. Seeing the gate opened, we entered into it.. A family was doing 'karuma kaariyam' at one corner.. Without disturbing them, we started walking along the bank.. It was nice walking holding hubby's hand and sharing the surprises of the building dimensions, walking areas, plants, rocky platforms etc.

The walking area was too wide. But it is closed now. Normally people are not allowed to walk.. Banyan trees are adding pride to the beauty.. Totally the environment was awesome. If it was a fine evening, we would not have heart to come out of it..

The trip was nice. Seeing such a place near Chennai is very rare.. It was like a grand feast for eyes.. Enjoying the beauty, we returned home.

A heart wrenching story of a poor Indian!

This is the heart-wrenching image of an Indian rickshaw worker who has been forced to take his newborn baby to work because there is no-one available to look after her.

Bablu Jatav has been carrying his one-month-old daugher, Damini, in a cloth sling around his neck since his wife Shanti died shortly after giving birth to her. The devoted dad, 38, said he was now forced to take the baby to work with him in Bharatpur city everyday because he has no other relatives to care for her.

Bablu Jatav has to take his newborn daughter to work because there is no-one available to look after her after his wife died shortly after giving birth. In another cruel twist baby Damini was rushed to hospital in Jaipur city earlier this week after she became critically ill .

She was in intensive care after being admitted with septicaemia, anemia and severe dehydration.
Luckily the newborn baby girl is now on the mend and said to be in a stable condition. 'Shanti died soon after delivering the baby at the hospital on September 20.'said Mr Jatav. 'Since then there has been no-one to look after my daughter, I keep her with me even when I pull my rickshaw.

Bablu Jatav was married to his wife for 15 years before she passed away after giving birth to their daughter.
'We had this baby after 15 years of our marriage, my wife was so happy when we were blessed with a daughter, but it is very sad she passed away.' Mr Jatav has been overwhelmed by offers of help after his story emerged and it is believed the Indian authorities are now stepping in to help Mr Jatav after hearing of his plight.

Two lessons can be stated from this story.

The first - God has made us in safe position. The second - We need to give our helping hands to those who are not in safe position...and tat's the reason why we're safe... Our life will be meaningful here...

தனி நபர் வளர்த்த காடு !

உலக வரலாற்றிலேயே எவரும் செய்யாத ஒரு மாபெரும் சாதனையை செய்துவிட்டு மிக அமைதியாக அடக்கமாக இருக்கிறார் ஒருவர். மனித குலத்திற்கு அவர் செய்த சிறந்த சேவை இது...எல்லோருக்கும் ஒரு முன்னுதாரணமாக இருக்கிறார். 'தனது சமூகத்திற்கு செய்ய வேண்டியது தனது கடமை' என ஒற்றை வரியுடன் தனது சாதனை குறித்து சொல்லி முடித்துகொள்கிறார். அப்படி என்ன செய்தார் ?!!

கிட்டத்தட்ட 1,360 ஏக்கர் நிலப் பரப்பளவில் தனி நபராக ஒரு காட்டை உருவாக்கி இருக்கிறார்...!!

யார் இவர் ?

அசாம் மாநிலத்தை சேர்ந்த ஒரு கிராமவாசி திரு.ஜாதவ் பயேங். அங்குள்ள மக்கள் இவரை 'முலாய்' என அழைக்கின்றனர். பிரம்மபுத்திரா நதியில் 1979 ஆம் ஆண்டில் வெள்ளத்தில் அதிக அளவில் பாம்புகள் அடித்து வர பட்டிருக்கிறது. வெள்ளம் வடிந்த பின் மேலும் பல ஊர்வன இறந்த நிலையில் அங்கே கிடந்திருக்கின்றன. மரங்கள் இன்றி அதிகரித்த வெப்பத்தினால் தான் இந்நிலை என புரிந்து கொண்டபோது இவரது வயது 16 ! பின் இது சம்பந்தமாக வனத்துறையை அணுகி விசாரித்த போது ஆற்றின் நடுவே உள்ள அந்த மணல் படுகையில் மரங்கள் எதுவும் வளராது மூங்கில் மரம் வேண்டுமானால் வளரலாம்,முடிந்தால் முயற்சி செய்து பாருங்கள் என்று சொல்லி இருக்கிறார்கள்...ஒருவரும் உதவி செய்யாத போது தனி நபராக செயலில் இறங்கி விட்டார் .

1980 ஆம் ஆண்டில் அசாமில் உள்ள ஜோர்ஹாட் மாவட்டத்தில் கோகிலமுக் இடத்துக்கு அருகில் 200 ஹெக்டேர் மணல் படுகையில் 'சமூககாடுகள் வளர்ப்பு' திட்டத்தின் படி வனத்துறையினர், மற்றும் தொழிலாளர்களும் இணைந்து மரக் கன்றுகளை நடும் திட்டம் தொடங்கப்பட்டது, பணி முடிந்ததும் மற்றவர்கள் சென்று விட இவர் மட்டும் மரகன்றுகளை பராமரித்து கொள்ள அனுமதி கேட்டு அங்கேயே தங்கி விட்டார். பின்னர் வனத்துறையினரும், மற்றவர்களும் இதனை அப்படியே மறந்துவிட்டனர், அந்த பக்கம் யாரும் எட்டி கூட பார்க்கவில்லை...!

மண்ணை வளப்படுத்த புது யுக்தி - எறும்பு

200 ஹெக்டேர் பரப்பில் மூங்கில் மட்டும் வளர்த்து வந்த இவர் பிற மரங்களையும் வளர்க்க முயற்சி எடுத்துள்ளார்...ஆனால் மணல் அதற்கு ஏற்றதாக இல்லை என்பதால் தனது கிராமத்தில் இருந்து 'சிவப்பு எறும்பு'களை சேகரித்து எடுத்து வந்து மணல் திட்டில் விட்டு இருக்கிறார். இந்த எறும்புகள் இவரை பலமாக தாக்கியும் மனம் தளராமல் இருந்துள்ளார். இந்த எறும்புகள் மண்ணின் பண்பை நல்லதாக மாற்றக்கூடியவை என்கிறார்...வெகு விரையில் மண் பயன்பாட்டுக்கு மாறியது. பிறகு அந்த இடம் முழுவதிலும் விதைகளை ஊன்றியும், பிற மரக்கன்றுகளை நட்டும் பராமரித்து வந்துள்ளார்...இப்படி ஒன்று இரண்டு வருடங்கள் அல்ல, 30 வருடங்கள் !!

இப்படி 2008 வருடம் வரை உலகில் யாருக்கும் தெரியாமல் ஒரு காடு பரப்பளவிலும், உயரத்திலும், அடர்த்தியிலும் பெருகிக் கொண்டே சென்றிருக்கிறது.

2008 ஆம் ஆண்டு தற்செயலாக 115 யானைகள் இந்த காட்டு பகுதிக்குள் புகுந்துவிட்டது. அதனை துரத்தி சென்ற வனத்துறையினர் இந்த காட்டை பார்த்து அதிர்ச்சியும் ஆச்சர்யமும் அடைந்திருகின்றனர். அரசு பதிவேட்டில் இடம் பெறாத இந்த காடு இங்கே எப்படி சாத்தியம் என் வியந்திருக்கின்றனர். முலாய் பற்றி கேள்விப்பட்டு அவரை சந்தித்து விஷயம் முழுவதும் அறிந்து மிக மகிழ்ச்சி அடைந்திருக்கின்றனர்.

காடு வளர்ப்புக்காக வனத்துறையோ மாநில அரசோ எந்த உதவியும் செய்யாத போது யாரையும் எதிர்பார்க்காமல் தனது சமூக கடமை இது வென எண்ணி இத்தனை வருடங்களாக தனது மண்ணுக்காக உழைத்த இவரை எவ்வளவு பாராட்டினாலும் போதாது.

குடும்பம்

மரங்களின் மேல் உள்ள அக்கறையினால் சொந்த ஊரை விட்டு இந்த காட்டுக்குள் சிறிய வீட்டை கட்டி தனது மனைவி, இரு மகன்கள், மகளுடன் வாழ்ந்து வருகிறார். வருமானத்திற்க்காக சில மாடுகளை வளர்த்து பாலை கறந்து விற்று குடும்ப செலவை பார்த்து கொள்கிறார்.

டீன் ஏஜ் பருவத்தில் தொடங்கியவர் தற்போது 50 வயதை நெருங்குகிறார். "இந்த காட்டை வனத்துறையினர் நன்கு பராமரிப்பதாக வாக்கு கொடுத்தால் நான் வேறு இடம் சென்று அங்கேயும் காடு வளர்ப்பில் ஈடுபட தயார் " என்கிறார் இந்த தன்னலமற்ற மாமனிதர் !!

இவரது தன்னலமற்ற பணி இப்படி இருக்க தற்போது காட்டை பற்றி அறிந்த அரசியல் தலைவர்களும், அதிகாரிகளும் உரிமை கொண்டாடவும், பாதுகாக்க பட்ட இயற்கை பகுதியாக அறிவிக்கவும் வரிசையில் காத்து இருக்கிறார்கள்.

தேக்கு , அகில், சந்தனம், கருங்காலி,ஆச்சா போன்ற மரங்களும், 300 ஹெக்டேர் பரப்பளவில் மூங்கில் காடுகளும் இருக்கின்றன. காட்டு விலங்குகளும் பறவைகளும் அதிக அளவில் இங்கே வாழ்ந்து வருகின்றன...!! 100 யானைகளுக்கு மேற்பட்டவை 6 மாதங்களுக்கு மேல் இங்கே வந்து தங்கி செல்கின்றன. பறவைகள் விலங்குகளின் சொர்க்கபுரி தான் இந்த 'முலாய் காடுகள்' !!

சுற்றுலா பயணிகள் வருகை அதிகரித்திருக்கிறது...இரு ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன் மிக 'பிரபல திரைப்பட தயாரிப்பாளர் டாம் ராபர்ட்' இந்த காட்டிற்கு வந்து படப்பிடிப்பை நடத்திச் சென்றுள்ளார். 'ஆற்றின் நடுவே மணல் திட்டில் இவ்வளவு பெரிய காடு வளர்ந்திருப்பது அதிசயம்' என வியந்திருக்கிறார்.

இப்படி பட்ட ஒரு மனிதர் வெளிநாடுகளில் இருந்தால் இதற்குள் அவரை தலையில் தூக்கி வைத்து கொண்டாடுவார்கள். தங்கள் நாட்டின் பெருமை என ஒரு பட்டமே கொடுத்து கௌரவித்து இருப்பார்கள்...ஆனால் இங்கோ பத்திரிகைகளில் கூட அவ்வளவாக செய்தி வெளியிட படவில்லை...இவரது புகைப்படத்தை மிகுந்த தேடுதலுக்கு பின் தற்போதுதான் கூகுளில் பார்க்கவே முடிந்தது.

மரம் நடுவதையே ஒரு விழா அளவுக்கு பெரிது படுத்தி புகைபடத்திற்கு முகத்தை காட்டி பெருமைப்பட்டு கொள்ளும் சராசரி மனிதர் போல் அல்ல முலாய். எதையும் எதிர்பார்க்காமல் இந்த மண்ணிற்கு தான் செய்யும் கடமை என சாதாரணமாக கூறும் அவரை அறிந்துகொண்ட பிறகாவது நம் கடமை தனை உணர்ந்து நாம் வாழும் சமூகத்திற்கு நமது சிறிய பங்களிப்பை கொடுப்போம்.

12 yr old Bihar boy cracked IIT-JEE exam!

In India, getting into IITs is a dream for almost all the school going children. Here goes a true record in examination..!

I was not even aware of IIT JEE exam during my age 12... But..... A 12-and-a-half-year-old boy from Bihar has cracked the highly competitive Indian Institute of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE).

Satyam Kumar of Bakhorapur village in Bhojpur district qualified from the Mumbai zone with an all-India rank of 8,137.

"I am happy to crack IIT-JEE but I will not join IIT this year because of my poor rank. I will attempt next year for a good rank," said Kumar over telephone on Saturday.

Kumar said he was keen to develop a software company on the lines of Facebook.

Kumar's father, Sidhnath Singh, a farmer, is proud of him. "It is a matter of pride that my son is the youngest to qualify for IIT-JEE," he said.

Kumar is still awaiting his class 12 results.

According to the father, Kumar passed the Class 10 board exam from Modern School in Kota, Rajasthan.

He said his son was intelligent since early childhood.

"He used to impress everyone with his talent even when he was barely five yearsold." This is why, the father said, he sent the boy to Kota for higher education.

"The entire village celebrated his success bursting firecrackers and consuming sweets," Singh said.

Ya, that's true and the first message was sent over vodafone network. The technology was developed in Francho-German GSM corporation. The text is "Merry Christmas". It has come a long way to dominate current mobile users.

In 2010, SMS technology earned around $115 billion dollars in revenues and in future the hope is increased revenue. Of course, its about to happen. Experts estimate that this will meet $726 dollars in next five years.
