SMS turns out of its teen age! :)

Short Messaging Service(SMS) becomes a vital media for communication among mobile users. FYI, the technology behind the text message is 19 years old. Ya, that's true and the first message was sent over vodafone network. The technology was developed in Francho-German GSM corporation. The text is "Merry Christmas". It has come a long way to dominate current mobile users.

In 2010, SMS technology earned around $115 billion dollars in revenues and in future the hope is increased revenue. Of course, its about to happen. Experts estimate that this will meet $726 dollars in next five years.
Ok, start firing messages.:)

Aug 15 - an Independence day or a public holiday?

Noways we think of Gandhi and fellow fighters on Independence day, Republic day and Gandhi b'dy like days only.. Tat z because those are public holidays(I feel shame of boarding down this thought. But tat s d true among 70 percent of the youth...) And our forth coming generation has no way of knowing the history behind India's freedom.. How can they get the feel 'patriotism' while we don't have.? We wind up the patriotic day with TV programs.. Who knows, after some 60 or 70 years, these public holidays will be working days... They'll forget about all fighter ji's, value of India's tradition and all... So and so..... From this spl day, lets try to be a true Indian. 1930's and 40's ppl fought for freedom, we're not in their situation. Lets try to make our India greeny.. Tat is our duty in India 65! Let this be your goal!!

Go Green....

Lets celebrate this independence day in this way! Very Happy Independence Day! !

Accident I met - My Third Poem

Two weeks before, exactly on 9th of April 2011, I met with a minor accident at Chennai.
This poem is the continuity of tat happening! Thought of posting for a long time, but doing tat now with a strange concept.

9,00,000 GB of Data in Single Gram of E Coli Bacteria

An amazing news of scientist world is B.I.O... S.T.O.R.A.G.E...

From the first Paper Tape which was used to store data on computer, scientists have evolved a numerous method to make data storage more efficient and fast. The future seems to have certain bacteria inside cpu’s to replace our harddisk drive to store binary data with greater data compaction.

The enthusiastic scientists of china from Chinese university of Hongkong (CUHK) are trying to use living cells of certain bacterias to construct more productive and eco friendly data storage devices. These CUHK is formed by a group of undergraduates and instructors from the chinese university of hongkong. The whole steps can be summarized as encoding data on the DNA’s of the bacteria and security is proved by encrypting through bringing in control environment of site specific genetic recombination. we can also call it as a ‘Bioencryption by recombination’

Encoding is done using DNA bases like Adenosine, Thymine, Cytosine and Guanine to represent digits 0,1,2 and 3.If successfull implemented these can be a brand new biological cryptography system. The idea is simple, harnessing the incredible adaptability of simple organisms in the tortured enviroment to make sure that the message stored can be left undisturbed regardless of any enviromental changes.

The major advantage can be to make data extremely resistant to hacking and environmental damage,of which almost all current solutions are affected by.

Also these will improve data compaction efficiency ..
Till now scientists have successfully squeezed more than 9,31,322 GB of data on a single gram of e-coli bacteria through developing massively parallel bacterial data storage system.
Compared to 1 to 4 GB per gram data density of today’s conventional storage systems,9,00,000 gb per gram is an out-standing work.
Taking this dream more close to commercial reality ,has developed read/correction and random access modules , in addition to a encryption modules, all using site specific recombination of the
inversion type.
Days are not far when we might have these bacterias as our USB storage to replace pendrives ,flash cards etc….
However to retrieve encoded data back is still expensive, which requires a sequencer to decode.
Lets see what they have for us in future…
“A strong and secure biological data storage system or just as all other an unending dream…..”

A Nice Quote I Recently Came Across!

In Chennai, I found a magazine called 'FROZEN THOUGHTS'.... I dont know exactly the name of the magazine, but the caption got sticked in my mind that 'alma matters'. If possible read that magazine. I'm sure, certainly it will make you disciplined.

I found the below saying there. Even I couldn't retrieve the exact saying back, i hope you can enjoy the spirit behind the saying.

"Often we expect others to accept us as we are and we want others to adjust with us. This leads to disrespect and finally break of relationship. So do the ironical of above. Accept others as they are and adjust yourself with them to get a beautiful mind."

Gonna have a try! Better you too!!! வாழ்க்கை வாழ்வதற்கே!

                                                                                                                                               Abinaya G

My Wipro Interview Experience! - Part II

The next day came. Morning I got up by 5. Made up myself ready for interview, rushed towards canteen. I put something inside even not knowing what dish it was. After charging up my stomach with delicious dishes, again returned to my room. On the way I saw gym. Tat was the first time I saw the equipments very closer. And none was inside the room. So i entered and noticed all of them. I climbed on the walker machine and standing there, i pushed a button. Suddenly it started working. I would slip if i continued standing on tat. I jumped down. and it was too comedy while thinking now... Even tat is not needed for that time, it made me more relaxed on that fine morning.... Came out of hostel with my baggage after checking my file.  After having read my resume once, i came inside college campus.

I came and joined the queue. Candidates were called out in alphabetical order. So I was called by 8.30 am itself. I found it convenient as I was fully charged with breakfast. There were totally 18 panels and i entered into panel 1. The Project manager was 10+ yrs experienced guy who treated me well. I'm listing the questions what i was asked for.

he introduced himself and asked me to give an intro. at that time he had a glance of my resume. his face seemed satisfied and told 'u have not exaggerated it seems'. then he continued asking technical questions.

PM: wts ur proj(seeing resume)
me: told the concepts clearly from starting to ending (the modules present, core modules, their work, sub
modules, how well they support the core modules) in a clean manner.
( he stopped noticing resume, and started listening to me. that gave an enthu to explain more)

PM: how u achieved the core module concept? can u code tat now?
me: wrote the essential coding which served the core module.
(he told tat target appln has been achieved using simple concepts but using it in a complex way. he appreciated tat)

PM: how to delete the third node from the last without using array concept in a linked list. he told me to give entire code.
me: did tat.(temp->next->next==null) is the condition, where temp is the pointer.

PM: programs in  c ( i dont remember all of them. but one of them is how to count the number of consonants in a given string.)
me: (u need to code it in easier way. i did it in such a way tat counting the number of vowels and white spaces and subtracting the count from total number of characters. tat is a simple thing to do tat). he noticed how i tracked the logic. i think this is necessary to grab their attention. after tat, he talked about the coding concepts of java. able to answer.

these r d major questions. others're return value of printf(), c supports overloading.justify.(ans s using multiple printf() stmts in single c program)...Some basic questions in networks. tats all. It lasted for 35 mins. One good thing is we can easily know whether we're selected or not in a round. My tech hr askd me what i thought abt my performance. My answers made me confident that i would easily move further through wipro's interview rounds. I said yes, it was good. He nodded and gave a sheet to fill my personal details.

Then I moved to hr round. HR round is like a formality round, only minimal level of elimination will be there. For me, it was for just 5 to 10 mins. General talk about me,my schooling, my college life. She appreciated the fluentzy level and asked how i made up. I just told abt my hobbies which helped me a lot to improve my fluentzy.

Finally she told that she would hire me. I was advised to wait for the confirmation mail from wipro. I came with satisfaction.

This is my experience, guys. Finally I got that letter from wipro on 24th october 2010 after a week i was interviewed. The most happiest day for my family!!!!!

My Wipro Interview Experience! - Part I

Hi friends,

I ve opened my blog after several months(?!?!). Yes, Days are fast moving, here our steps are very least countable. I mean to say I haven't even touched my webpages for around 3 months. I hope you also missed to notice in your busy schedule.

However, this is the time to share some of the happenings, which have changed my life style.Ya, things turned to good. I've got an engineering degree, now a specialization has been added with tat. It means.... I ve entered into software field. After that loads and loads of things happened. So summarizing all of them.. I think this part 'My Wipro Experience' might help any of my juniors.

I got into the mnc WIPRO through campus Interview. I'm just about to present my interview experience here. Well, I entered throught anna university's state level placement program 2010 (during my final year). It was conducted in PSNA, Dindigul, TamilNadu, in the month of october.

There were three rounds viz aptitude round, technical round and final hr round.
Aptitude round was very common as other mnc's. Questions were from reasoning, verbal and math related. One can easily crack it, if some common sense is applied. Most of the queries were like 'eliminating irrelevant answers and selecting the appropriate one'... So proper guessing plays a vital role. So do concentrate on questions and tat's enough. Apply your own logic on math questions. Most probably they were like puzzles...

Then... they took lot of time to display the apti results.  Finally we got it by 5 pm. They took us to a conference hall and one HR congratulated for getting selected, then he explained our next day preparations, and general things about Wipro Technologies etc. Then.... we were asked to write an essay of two pages regarding 'mobile revolution'. As we were well practiced in essay writing through Anna University semester exams, we all could do tat. I filled my pages with some technical contents as i ve heard tat it would play a role in HR interview. But in my case, it wasn't. My HR didn't have time to see that paper (may the reason be we were busy talking about my hobbies during college days and schooling)... What i heard is 'wipro conducts GD if more ppl r shortlisted in aptitude round. all r elimination rounds. We didnt undergo tat round as more got rejected'.

Then, a big issue was arisen, that made my head aching for long time... The organizer of the program asked who were all ready to attend the technical interview right then. he needed atleast 10% of us, as one of the project manager was ready to interview the candidates on the spot. My friends who accompanied me from my college, all  raised their hands except me. I tried to convince them to attend the interview on the next day but i failed. They were so eager to crack it on the day itself. The reason behind that was they thought interview would be easy as the interviewer knew the students were not fully ready for facing it. But i wasn't compromised myself as tat is an idiotic thinking. I tried to turn their minds. But they became deaf that time. So... I was sitting with them and preparing for technical interview. I had nt confined them thereafter. I was clear that i would be attending on the next day. As they are my friends, I was sitting with them... But only one of my frnd got selected for next round. all fell down with technical. As the questions were from mathematics of first year, they were not able to make it. Such things happen. it is as per ur luck and time.

Later they told that they could clear if they appeared on next day, as programming questions were there on technical interview. My frnds were gud enough to crack, but their bad time didnt make it so... They started journey towards hometown and I went to stay at hostel of PSNA, for preparing next day interview.
